Brightside faces an unfaithful lover in “HAD2!”
The catchy track is the latest release from Brightside. HAD2 describes a person who’s addicted to love and looking for it in all the wrong places. We’ve all heard of songs about cheating partners, people looking to have their cake and eat it too, but this single is a little different. The beat and vocal performance is upbeat and not the melancholy, bitter sound we often hear.
The lyrics tell the story of a hurt lover who realizes they’re not the only one. Using the metaphor of a drug addiction, the band explains how the “addict”s actions will eventually lead to their demise. Heartfelt but far from miserable, the band takes us on the journey of letting go.
Brightside is the Indie pop group formed by childhood friends Jake, Connor, Dillon, Will, and Cory. The quintet has toured with popular groups such as We The Kings and Cute Is What We Aim For, covering all of North America. Their popular tracks include Loveletters and Aftr Mdnght.
