Elektric Animals: “Reckless”

July 27, 2020 | Writer: Emma Kopelowicz

Denver-based indie rock group Elektric Animals have us feeling revved up and ready for a rumble with their new track, “Reckless.”

Take a little bit of punk, a dash of blues, some 90’s garage rock, and a whole lot of new school grit, and you’ll find yourself listening to an Elektric Animals original. The band swept across the Denver music scene in 2018 and they’ve kept up the momentum since then. Bringing the same energy to the studio as they do to the stage, every one of their songs will make you feel like you’re rocking out front row center at one of their shows.

On “Reckless,” Nick Sanders’s gripping vocals tear through the intense guitar riffs and pulsing drumbeats coursing the melody’s veins. Bursting with high-energy rhythms and pure, unfiltered wild spirit, this track thrives off the fact that it’s a little rough around the edges.  “I feel I bit reckless/I may just find my way to you,” Sanders passionately wails.

Between the raucous verses, Oscar Jara’s guitar licks blows our minds while Jerrid Van Scoy’s basslines lull us into a hypnotic daze. Meanwhile, Kyle Christy on drums gets our blood pumping with his rollicking beats. Together, the members of Elektric Animals stand as a solid force to be reckoned with.
