Retro. Classic. Capital Soiree gives us all the 80’s feels in “Pop Band”!

Paired with its equally nostalgic video, “Pop Band” details the stresses and confusion of pursuing a dream….with onlookers. The lyrics speak of the challenges the subject faces as he’s trying to choose what voice to follow. The video pokes fun at the concept of “coolness”, but the verses are quite grounded. They highlight a struggle we all can relate to- identity and how we see are ourselves. Despite its thought-provoking and contemplative lyrics, the vocals are quite whimsical- taking us into a dream world. Between the comical video and the accessible theme, we have no doubt you’ll enjoy “Pop Band”.

“Pop Band” is the follow up single to Capital Soiree’s previous release, “Side of Town”. The Chicago based group formed in 2013. Since then, they’ve released a number of EPs including Next Weekend and Take Me Anywhere. Full of multi-instrumentalists, Capital Soiree has also mastered the art of producing- giving them more creative control and allowing fans to only hear projects they’re confident in.
