I place “The Long Way Home” in the song category of melodic rapping.

It’s a strange mix of hardcore rap lyrics with an intriguing vocal performance from Paris Marie. But that strange mix is exactly what I like about it.

Normally, I’m not a huge fan of the boisterous rap variety, but then comes the chorus which had me wanting more. Paris Marie has a sultry, smooth voice that’s hypnotic. Her voice, paired with Forever HYPe, makes for a match made in heaven. The other thing I like about “The Long Way Home” is that there is a message here waiting to be decoded by the listener.
